ARTISTS HELPING ARTISTS
Professional Development for the Creative Industry
Artists Helping Artists is a series of professional development workshops led by creative leaders and business professionals speaking on a range of topics unique to the creative industry.
Over a year in the making, Artists Helping Artists emerged out of a need for continued professional development within the growing creative industry in Northwest Arkansas. As producers of cultural programming for the last five years, the board and staff of NWA Creative Arts Network have had the opportunity to work with hundreds of artists. “Many come to us asking for advice on basic business practices, from negotiating contracts to funding opportunities, tax information to marketing strategies,” noted Lauren Embree, Executive Director of NWA Creative Arts Network. “We know that a strong foundation in these basic practices sets the stage for sustaining a life as a professional artist. Northwest Arkansas is home to many exceptionally talented artists whom we wish to see succeed, and we want to fill the need for educational programs aimed at this surprisingly underserved audience.”
